With the holidays winding down and the new year just around the corner, now is the time to think about ways to spruce up your home. In Sunday's Fresh section of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Suzan gives advice on how to give your home a new, fresh look without breaking the bank. A few photos of her designs accompany the article.

Suzan hits the Milwaukee airwaves!
Sometimes, you just want a little advice on how you can spruce up your home. I was lucky enough to be invited to a local morning show, Real Milwaukee, to offer a few little design tips and tricks. It was a fun time, and hopefully I was able to inspire a few people to get creative, using what they already have in their home. Watch soon for video link!

Well here it is! M Magazine's article on Modern Glamour, featuring my client's powder room makeover. What a fun little project! When space is limited, as is the case with most powder rooms, why not be a little daring? A small space is perfect for trying out something a little more dramatic than you'd normally do. This metallic wallpaper gives the illusion of being 3-dimensional. It's a bold statement in a room that's smaller than a closet, but why not go for the bold? A simple, sleek sink, round mirror and a vase of tulips was all this room needed - no artwork or accessories to clutter up the space. The room is a visual feast, and it would have been easy to go overboard and create something visually too stimulating. Here, the wallpaper and console sink make the statement that less is more.

I'm used to photo shoots, having done dozens in the last few years. We shoot many of my projects every year, and I am very involved in every aspect of the shoots - from styling to angles to editing. So it was a little different having Milwaukee's own M Magazine come to my studio to do a shoot in which I was just an observer. I was recently interviewed by the mag after they saw one of my makeovers - a small powder room reno, where I used a modern metallic wallpaper - on houzz.com. They'll be doing a little write-up on the trend of metallics in wallpaper, and sent staff photographer Matt Haas over to work his magic on some rolls of the stuff. Matt got right to work, and it was fun to watch his creative process. I snapped a few pics myself, and I can't wait to see which photo M's editor Jen Hunholz ends up using!
Watch for the article and photo in M Magazine's May issue!
