Suzan took my dated, early 1990s oak nightmare family room and turned it into a fresh, warm, and inviting space. She listened to my opinions but used her own expertise to bring everything together in a way I never could have done myself. I absolutely love the results!

We could not have gotten our beautiful living room without all the help we got from Suzan and Lisa. Many, many thanks to them for all the hard work, time and dedication they put into it. We started with just the furniture and tables, but needed some help to make it a room we truly love. Every time I walk past it, I smile… from the paint on the walls, the carpeting, artwork, lamps, blinds, draperies, and new tile around fireplace – it is all perfect. They really know how to envision the whole project and had lots of options for us to look at – without being too overwhelming! Thanks again!

Suzan was great to work with. She helped us furnish our condo/loft which was a whole new design concept for us. She brought us ideas we would never have come to on our own and they were just right. We get rave reviews from our friends and family and always give credit to Suzan, her team, and her terrific design sense. We are continuing to work with Suzan to remake the rest of our condo and look forward to the finished product.

We could not be happier with the work Suzan has done with our living room. She visited us the day after we closed on our Wauwatosa home. With such a nice house, we wanted to have furniture/design layout that was appropriate for the age and architecture of the house (built in the 30s). Suzan more than delivered on this. Our family and friends just love the artwork, intricately detailed furniture, the beautiful accents, and the overall layout. My wife and I are over the moon with the project and cannot wait to work with Suzan in the future on our entryway and basement remodel.

I hired Suzan to help with color scheme and product selection, while achieving a cohesive style for my house. Her design suggestions touched on almost every room in the house. In the past when hiring designers, they pushed me towards a style that did not fit my personality. With Suzan, however, it was just the opposite. She worked to maintain the style and color scheme I wanted while adding unique suggestions and originality that perfected the look I wanted for the home. She did this all while meeting my budget needs. The whole process was seamless and easy. Suzan helped every step of the way — including selections such as Quartz, tile, granite, bathroom fixtures, paint colors, drapery fabrics, and several pieces of furniture. When the project was finished, it was the simplistic elegance I was hoping to attain and far exceeded my high expectations. I would recommend Suzan to anyone I know and I will definitely use her again in the future.

I had the recent pleasure of working with Suzan for the third time. The challenge on this most recent project was that she had to work long distance in order to help me update our lake home in northern Wisconsin. This was accomplished through many photos, in-depth discussions and face-to-face meetings. Suzan really understood our goals and created a lighter and more rustic sophisticated look. She provided valuable guidance in selecting colors, furniture, rugs and designing custom window treatments for the project, and coordinated the work schedule of the contractors. My husband and I were very pleased by Suzan’s kindness and professionalism throughout the entire process. She was the first designer we had ever worked with, so we were a little nervous at first, but she made it so easy! We would highly recommend her. We had a difficult room to furnish, a mid-century great room without walls, and Suzan found the perfect furniture pieces to fit the room and our lifestyle. It was so nice to have her and her team handle all of the details from in-home selection of fabric to final delivery. I found Suzan J Designs online and contacted her. When she came to my home I was impressed with how well she listened to what we wanted and how we used the rooms in our home. She was very respectful of how we lived, and worked her suggestions and designs to fit our needs. Due to Suzan’s expert eye, we converted a den to a mud room with custom built-ins, as well as changed all wall and trim color, plus new carpeting throughout the house. She also selected new furnishings for our main living area to complement our existing pieces. Our home is much more functional and it looks like a brand new home. In addition, Suzan referred top notch contractors, and she coordinated the entire project. We will utilize Suzan for all our needs in the future.

Suzan was wonderful to work with. I recall our first phone conversation in which she gave me her undivided attention, and I believe she understood a lot about me and the project without even seeing my home yet. Upon our first meeting she already had an idea of what I was trying to accomplish – to create more seating in a small living/dining room combined. The amount of seating I now have is amazing. The color palette she combined is just stunning. She kept the color I liked and brought in a new color that I had never used before. All of my new furniture is not only timeless, but is also comfortable and functional. Suzan gave me several floor plans as options, yet the first one she suggested was the one I went with. Everyone who comes over is amazed at the transformation. After seeing her quality of work I asked her to design my family room with better functionality, and decor that fits my style, and the custom window treatments she designed are amazing. Suzan has gone out of her way to travel to my home which is at least an hour away. As soon as the furniture arrives she will make it happen. I know she is extremely talented in design. She does not get flustered and I believe anything is attainable by her and her team. I look forward to finishing my family room and continue to working with Suzan in the future. I hired Suzan to remodel our upstairs master bedroom and closet, to update my children’s rooms, and to freshen up our first floor rooms. Suzan redecorated the first floor rooms by rearranging our existing furniture, adding a few decorative pieces, and adding custom window treatments. She also took our artwork, had it re-framed, and placed it back in the rooms. I was blown away by how she could use our existing furniture and pieces to transform our rooms. She then redesigned our master bedroom to include a large walk-in closet with custom cabinetry. Suzan worked with her contractors to complete the project, and she then completed the bedrooms with the carpet installation, custom bedding, blinds, draperies, pillows, and decorative pieces. The master bedroom has become a gorgeous retreat and the children’s rooms fit their personalities perfectly.

My experience with Suzan J Designs/Decorating Den Interiors has been one of complete satisfaction and pure delight with the end result. Suzan came out to meet with us for our initial appointment and shared her portfolio with us. She returned a few weeks later with several different design plans and fabric selections. We placed our order that day and I was completely confident, as her expertise spoke for itself. Our home has been transformed into a warm, inviting and comfortable space that immediately felt like home to us. It truly is something out of a magazine!

Suzan was respectful of our requests but also provided her expertise. We also like how she provided low, mid and high cost options based on our design requests. If there was a specific “look” we wanted, she did her due diligence to meet the need and if the dream design could not be met, she provided amazing options. Suzan used her design skills to provide solutions we never could’ve imagined. We’ve learned that you have to have a keen eye in this business to produce quality work and that’s not something to be found easily in any design company. But Suzan DEFINITELY possesses that quality.

Suzan from Suzan J Designs/Decorating Den Interiors has helped with several projects, including a complete remodel of our family room/dining room area and now the design for our bathroom. She put together a comprehensive plan including fixture placement and selections, material selections, furniture placement and selection, lighting, and accessories. I am a professional picture framer and have worked with Suzan on numerous projects for her clients over the past 5 years. Suzan has a wonderful eye for color and scale, and a good sense of appropriate styles that bring out the best in the artwork, and also coordinate well with the client’s décor. She is budget conscious, but always creates a quality design. I look forward to working with her on future projects. I would recommend her highly.

Over the past 10 years we have been doing the photography for Suzan J Designs. Through the years we have watched Suzan’s designs grow into a truly well laid out design for her clients. Prior to a photo session we decide on lighting and the best angle to photograph each room, while Suzan and Lisa work on the minute details such as the best accessories for each shot. With the current photo technology, we are able to see, during the photo shoot, the actual photo on an ipad and make any modifications to the accessories and angles, and only when she is happy with the final image do we take the final photograph. This can take 40 to 50 photos and frequently takes over an hour to get the right shot. We work well together, discussing many different options and making sure her design is captured correctly on the final image. Suzan and Lisa then provide us with the actual paint and fabric samples to match colors in post production, realizing that the camera doesn’t always register the correct color. Throughout the post production, we communicate with Suzan regularly and send proofs until we achieve have her goal.
