Gorgeous Living Room

Project Overview:

This regal living room just needed a face lift. There was not enough seating, so a skirted sofa was brought in to offset the leather sofa my clients already owned. Two of the clients chairs were reupholstered in a lighter color, a lively zebra print in a muted gray and beige. Simple accessories and punches of blue gave the room some pizazz, and new lighting and an awesome extra large coffee table made this room unique, like no other.

Gorgeous Living Room

This living room was very spacious, and Amy and Sean’s sofa that they brought from their previous home was dwarfed in this room. It was a dark leather, and they didn’t want to part with it, even though they knew that would limit their options a bit. Amy loved animal prints, so it was important to her to infuse that in here, while still keeping the room light, not heavy.

New sofa was the base to this living room

A second sofa in a light fabric was brought in. I opted for a skirted piece to offset the casualness of the leather sofa. Amy had two accent chairs in animal print, but they were very dark. I had them reupholstered in a zebra fabric that was more of a soft gray and beige. The pillows that we used had pattern and color – just enough.

Extra large coffee table

The extra large coffee table had three removable trays, which could be used when entertaining. A new chandelier was hung in place of the heavy outdated iron version that had been there. This room was open to the kitchen and eating area, so I kept the flow of color and ambiance going throughout.

What to do with tall windows

The previous window treatments did not do justice to the stunning windows. I still kept the treatments simple, but brought in some muted color and pattern, and hung them at the top of the window to showcase the grandness. A simple abstract piece of art was all that was needed on the mantle.
